Welcome our new Cello instructor
Yu-Wen Wang
Ms. Yu-We holds a Bachelor's degree from the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music. 🎼 She has performed extensively for over 15 years in solo, orchestral and chamber music settings. She is also a former member of The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and The National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan. Aside from performing, she loves teaching and working with students of all ages. She's experienced in teaching young beginners as well as helping older students prepare for competitions. 🏆

Welcome our new Piano instructor

Danqing Xu
Join us in welcoming our new piano instructor, Dr. Danqing Xu. Dr. Xu has more than 15 years of experience teaching piano. Among her supervising professors are the winner of the Van Cliburn competition pianist Vladimir Viardo, the Steinway Artist Walter Cosand and the Pedagogic expert Hannah Creviston. She is an energetic and passionate piano teacher with a great passion for teaching students of all ages. Her lessons emphasize the proper technique, performance and ear training.
Welcome our new Cello instructor
Fan Zeng
Fan will soon hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Cello Performance from the
University of South Carolina. She got full scholarship and Assistantship for both
her Master and Doctor studies. She has performed with several professional
orchestras, but her passion is always about teaching. She has more than 10
years teaching experiences and because she switched from the violin to cello
when she was young, so she can really understand and help students who want
smoothly to transit to cello study. Teaching is about providing knowledge and
helping students to develop to their full potential, so she will walk through every
step with the student to help them achieve their own goals.

Gyusun Han
Han has been teaching students privately about 15 years. She began playing violin at six, after she attended her sister’s violin recital. Han is very passionate about chamber music, so she has been participated in several chamber music festivals and recitals all over the country.
Han loves to communicate with students, talk about their concerns and lead them to be health in mentally and physically. She is very excited to meet new students from DNA!

Elias Blake
Elias has been studying piano for about 18 years and is currently working on his Bachelor of Music in piano performance at Capital University. He particularly enjoys playing music by Romantic composers like Liszt. He loves teaching students of all ages and ability levels, and has a lot of experience working with students under the age of six. He is very excited to begin teaching for DNA!

Lauren Edwards
Lauren Edwards has been teaching flute lessons for five years, and enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities! She loves performing with woodwind chamber groups, symphony orchestras, and jazz combos. She is excited to bring her skills from her Master's studies at Ohio University, back home to Columbus!

Adam Hoffman
Welcome Adam Hoffman to our DNA Music Academy team. He is our new drum set instructor that has been playing for over 18 years, and performing professionally for over twelve of them. Adam is an incredible instructor for beginners and professionals alike, ready to learn any style of music. Welcome to the DNA team, Adam!

Teacher of the Month
Wei-Yi Sun is on our piano faculty. She is going to graduate with her Doctoral in piano performance from The Ohio State University. She recently won the “Gold Medal Award” from Forte International Music Competition on February 9th 2020 and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Congratulations!

Student of the Month
Congratulations to Angie Feng, she participated in the CMTA Achievement Awards representing DNA Music Academy. Angie won the Intermediate 2nd place piano award 🥈. Angie has studied piano for a little over 4 years with Mrs. Qian Yoyo Liu (founder/director of DNA Music Academy). She loves playing the piano, dancing and reading. Her favorite composer is Debussy.

Welcome our new Guzheng Tutor
Cathy Huang
Please welcome our new Guzheng Tutor, Cathy Huang! Cathy started to learn Guzheng at the age of 10 and has been playing Guzheng for over 13 years! She specializes in teaching beginner and intermediate level students. DNA is pleased to now have a separate tutor track! The position is brand new. The tuition price is half of a regular teacher which makes learning this new instrument even more accessible.
