Bio

Wei-Yi has performed and won many awards internationally and locally. She was one of the finalists in Forte International Music Competition and one of the semi-finalists in NTD International Piano Competition in New York. Several honors she received include first prize of MTNA Competition (Ohio State Division), First Prize of OhioMTA Graves Piano Competition, and the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs Award. In 2018, she received several prizes such as the 2nd prize in the Women in Music Competition in Columbus, winner of the OSU School of Music DMA Concerto Competition, and recipient of a Studying Abroad Scholarship from the Taiwan Ministry of Education.

Wei-Yi is not only a sought after solo and collaborative artist but a dedicated teacher. She was a Graduate Teaching Associate in the School of Music where she taught both music and non-music majors. In all three years of being a teaching associate at the Ohio State University School of Music, she received the outstanding graduate associate award each year. She also volunteered in Liou-Guei Summer Piano Camp for three years and taught students from age 6 to 70. She believes that every student is different and hence deserves a different approach according to their skill level and personality. She has great passion in teaching piano and is happy to share her knowledge of piano with her students.
